Being able to listen to the needs and wants of the residents, while engaging with the Board and owners as this community continues to grow proactively. What do you enjoy the most about your job?  The relationships! Leveraging my professional experience and related education to support the Board, owners, and residents while optimizing vendor and contractor services, brings me enormous satisfaction. These relationships are based on trust, honesty, and integrity. I don’t take this for granted for a moment because, without the people, it’s just a building – together, we’re a community. Red Haus just makes me happy. Having the opportunity to be a part of this community is something that I am very grateful for, and I’m proud to be your General Manager. What are you most proud of in your professional career? My Outlook. I’ve been fortunate to have gained insight and experience in varying roles in this industry, which have afforded me a uniquely robust outlook and approach to most situations.   My Education. I’m an Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) through the Real Estate Institute of Canada. I’ve also completed critical courses through the Real Estate Council of Alberta. What are three things you're most proud of in your personal life? My children. I look at them and think, I did good. I did that, and now I have been blessed with grandchildren and I hope that someday my children look at their children the same way that I look at them. My curious spirit. I look at all aspects of life through a curious lens, which allows me to remain non-judgmental and empathetic. My foresight. Having all staff on-site will be significant to expediting service requests, with better attention to detail and quality. What are you most proud of in your professional career? I’m with Kelly – it’s the relationships. Being diligent in my efforts to develop the trust of this community ultimately helps me to perform my job to the best of my ability. As such, we ask that you be extra mindful of music and guest volume. Unlike city bylaws that restrict persistent or “nuisance noise” from 10PM-7AM Monday - Saturday and 10PM- 9AM on Sundays and Holidays, “reasonable noise levels” are enforced 24/7 at Red Haus. Pending the severity and length of the disturbance, residents must submit a noise complaint through Condo Control if you would like it formally addressed by the Property Manager. Include the disturbance date, duration and noise characteristics. In addition, if late-night partying or a domestic disturbance occurs, call 911. The Club Haus provides an ideal space for parties, where noise levels are more contained.       <image:caption>As we see (and feel) the temperatures drop, we’re re-sharing some easy tips from our property’s plumber (Reggin Technical Services Ltd.) to avoid untimely emergency calls. In recent years, our property insurance has been significantly impacted by residents who fail to follow these steps and in doing so, put their unit and surrounding units at risk due to costly flood damage. Test &amp; Test Again. Turn your thermostat all the way up, then off (just temporarily while completing test). Check if your radiant heater (along baseboard) comes on when the temperature is increased, and off when decreased (which takes about one minute). If there is no change, there could be an issue with the zone valve or thermostat. Set &amp; Forget at 17C. Always have your thermostat set at 17C or higher. If you travel or leave your condo for any period of time, never turn your heating off. Listen closely. Do you hear excessive noise when your radiant heater is turned on. If yes, this can indicate failing or failed components. Close Windows &amp; Patio Doors. This is tremendously important and is repeatedly the primary reason for flood damage every winter— never, ever open windows below freezing. When left open, cold air can freeze the radiant pipes below and freeze them, causing water pipes to burst. Have Easy Access to Plumber Contact. Provide your tenant(s) with a preferred contractor contact list, include a plumber in the event of emergencies. Please remember, plumbers fees and costs stemming from flood damage is the responsibility or the occupant and owner. Psssst.
